Born and raised on the suburbs of Barcelona The singer was described as an "atypical pop-star" due to her genre-bending musical styles. Rosalia is the eldest of four children to Pilar Tobella, an entrepreneur who runs a small metalworks company. Her father, Jose Manuel Vila, was born in Cudillero, Asturias. They parted in 2019. The older sister Pilar Vila ("born 1989") is her stylist and creative mind. Rosalia discovered her love for performing arts when she was a young person in particular after she was introduced to the discography of Camaron de la Isla. In the Taller de Musics, she started her musical training. She completed a 6-year program in the academy. She started her studies at the Raval school, and then transferred to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia.
